Monster Cable amps came today

Well I got my Monster Cable power amps. Model 3250 3- channel and 2250 2-channel. These things are built like tanks. 100+ and 85+lbs respectively with power cords bigger diameter than a quarter. Digital meters do get a little annoying after time but they can be shut off. These are my first home amps so I have nothing to compare them to but after they were hooked up all I can say is WOW! I thought I had a fairly powerful receiver (Denon 3805) but with the addition of these amps it brought listening to a new level. More power than I need and IMO more power than my speakers can handle. Any newbies contemplating high end receivers vs. seperates do yourself a favor and go seperates. I wish I had from the beginning. Sorry for the crappy write-up but I am very novice when it comes to home audio.

Awesome! I remember when I went from my receiver to separates...I was stunned at the difference just like you. I was also very much dismayed that I had wasted any time with a receiver at all.George Grand wrote: »

Congrats, bassaholic!
You certainly now have a system that can go bump with the best of them! I've always liked the looks of the monster stuff, just not the MSRPs.Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand

Gotta love Ebay...the 3250 was NIB and the 2250 was slightly used but looks like new. Serial numbers were on both units.Pioneer SC-37

Told ya they were AWESOME units. Congrats and have fun. I really enjoy mine. I got a killer deal on them and have had zero problems.

Cool stuff there. Might I suggest moving your dvd player off of the cable box? One, the heat those boxes put out is definitely not good for it. But they also put out TONS of interference. I bet you will see a lot better picture out of your dvd player if you put it on a different shelf.

Congrats Bass! There is no such thing as more power than you need, or more power than the speakers can handle.
The speakers will draw exactly what they need to sound their best. Your ears will give out long before the speakers do!Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -

Yep, at the price you paid, it was hard to believe you were thinking of not using them. Enjoy!
