I haven't seen a release date yet, but it's official that they're on their way. Can't wait. I have seen Fellowship in HD and it's absolutely jaw dropping. 198.gif

    Will the audio still be DTS 6.1 or is the HD audio different?

    It's been rumored for a very long time and still we wait. I sure hope they go with the EE's on these, if not I'll wait until they do.

    nah, they'll do the regular versions then do the EE's a year later. Then a year after that, make a box set with DTS HD. Gotta get every penny out of you they can!

    I am not a big fan but those movies alone should boost sales for HD players I would think.

    Finally, the studio reps answered the inevitable "When is 'Lord of the Rings' coming out in high-def?" question with the answer, "They (New Line) are working on it now and are determining a release date." In other words, be patient, hobbits!
