CDP output question

My cdp has both tube and ss analog outs and also a digital out (coax).
If I were to use the digital out is the tube or ss technology used before reaching this output?

I might not be asking this question correctly or maybe I need to contact the manufacturer? Or maybe the answer is obvious if I had a clue?

I'm not planning on using the digital out. The tube (stock - no rolling yet) analog out is far superior compared to running the coax to the Onkyo. WOW!

The player has been on about 17 hours so far Bada recommends 50 hours.

Thanks,
Rich

Use the analog outputs because the digital out will bypass the vacuum tube stage.

Choose the analogs specific to the vaccum tubes to get the best performance. It should be indicated at the back which is for SS and which for Vac tubes.

    Enjoy! :D

PLEASE get rid of that stock tube. You haven't heard the Bada yet until you do.

So much for waiting to change out the tube. Mission accomplished GE 5670 NOS installed. Opening up the player was uncomfortable enough considering how new it was and the money it cost (It was a lot for me anyway).

Of course now warranty is voided. The original tube was lightly glued in so pulling it out was no fun and a little frightening. It was my first time.:D

I threw the $20 tube dampner on the new tube too. Whatever, I didn't listen before/after blah blah, it's on there! I hope I don't have to open it up for sometime now, phew.

As one might expect Tube out sounds best AND LOUDEST. Early I hope it being louder doesn't get me in as much trouble as you found with your cord.. haha!

Naturally the other ss analog out was next best and lastly the digital out to my onkyo. Only difference on the analog outs was tube out had diamondbacks where ss out had the blue heaven.

I think the new GE tube sounds better after only a brief listen, I'll be surprised if it continues to improve. Compared to the previous tube my first thought would be that the music sounds more real, lifelike.

What was clacking in the background now sounds more like wood being struck. Female vocals sound more real too. Everything a bit more vibrant.

    Great.

Give that tube a little more time to burn in and the Bada will really open up.
