Connection on a Velodyne SMS-1?

Hello!

I have a question and I feel like a real idiot because I can't get anything to display on my Plasma with my new SMS-1?

I have a Pioneer VSX-74TSXi receiver and a Panasonic 8UK plasma connected via HDMI. Problem lies when I try to connect the SMS-1 with S-video or with the "yellow" analog cable to my receiver. Is there something I'm missing here, I tried about every input/output configuration with no luck at all?

Wingnut-

I know you have one of these... Is there a trick or something I'm missing out on here??

Thanks for all the help!

Mike

Try plugging in the yellow cable directly to the set. Mine does not work through my pre either.

That is going to be a problem since I really don't have access to the inputs on my plasma unless I dismount it from the buffet stand.

I don't understand why it won't work through the pre? Thanks for the help, this is really strange.

I don't know...I just know that it doesn't through my Anthem either.

Thanks wingnut, I appreciate the help.

I need to change/update the HDMI cards on my Panny anyway, I guess I'll throw the analog card in the third slot as well.

With the DD15 sub I auditioned I went directly to the game (yellow) analog input on the display front panel. Don't know how your Plasma's setup or how you connect, but it was pretty simple. You only need the video for sweeps and flattening the curve...disconnect when flat(ish).

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

With my commercial Panny display everything is hidden underneath the plasma. I have it mounted on a lift/buffet type of stand that limits my access to the inputs. I still don't see why you can't connect the SMS-1 to a pre? Thanks for the help Ron...
