From the FM, these two were offered to me for $100 plus shipping and $200 respectively.

Should I jump on one of these for a HT for my dad?

    The Elite is/was much higher up the food chain than the JVC. The amp section would definately be stouter. FWIW, I had issues driving a JVC 9010 into protection with RTi70s similar to the newer RTi8s on some DTS music tracks.

    Both are 5.1 receviers. I would pick the Pioneer; It looks like a good pickup for $200.
