what to do with my RT600i's

I have a pair of RT600i's as fronts and I'm looking to improve on my old LS/FX surrounds.
What I would really like to do is get my hands on a pair of RT800i's or RTi70's and move my current pair to the back. Or get another pair of RT600i's. But I can only spend 2-3 hundred without my wife fliping out right now and haven't been able to swing a deal on eBay with my budget.
My question is;
-Would a new pair of RTi6's or RTi4's match up well?
-Or I can get my hands on an old pair of RT25i's (recommended match by Polk) fairly cheap. They just look like they may be small for my fairly large room.
-Or would some of the current cheaper lines match my older, mid/higher-end speakers? ie. anything from the monitor or R series. I can get a new pair of R300's for a little over a hundred from Frys.com, but I figured that they must be crappy for that price
Best case scenario;
Someone from the St. Louis area wants to sell me their RT600i, RT800i, or RTi70's and that way I could get more speaker for my dollar without having to pay for shipping.
Looking for recommendations, I'm getting itchy to buy something
Thanks,
Leigh

I think you've got a great system with 600's and LS/FX. How about $300 on electronics or cables instead? Got a sub and a center?Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

I'm not sure what you are trying to upgrade. Those are excellent surround speakers and if in good shape probably as good or better that anything you've mentioned for the rear speakers, especially for HT. If you are set on changing them out then the following two are matches to the RT600is.

They show up on ebay or craiglist from time to time and should be in your price range. The RT25i would work as well but they are not a dipole/bipole like the fx speakers are."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

Sorry that must of been a Freudian slip.
My surrounds are actually RT/FX, I would like to own a pair of LS/FX.
The speakers that I have are OK, but I'm having problems with the output on my right unit. I can't tell if the bipole/dipole switch is screwed up or if I just lost a tweeter. Either way there is something loose inside the speaker which can't be good. I never really liked the back to back speaker format anyway, maybe some day I'll be able to use them as sides in a 7.1 system.
I really like my RT600i's. Even though they are considered undersized for the room that I have them in, they sound great to me and I'm really happy with them. I would just like to expand on them.
As for the other questions. Yes I am running a Polk center and sub. I can't remember the models right now, but they work fine for my novice ears. I could improve the cables on my surrounds and probably will in the near future. Everything else is heavy gauge monster cables and after a lot of trial and error and fact finding missions I'm pretty sure I have everything wired up properly.
