I just came across a pair of these collecting dust at my mother-in-law's place. Seems as though they may have a following out there and possibly a decent used market especially for HT?

I will probably be helping her sell these, as I don't have a use for them. I have found some good reviews online and a range from $28-$108 on ebay.

Anybody have any thoughts or opinions on these speakers or what they might actually be worth?

    Worth more to sit down and listen to, than sell, imo. The Linaeum tweeter is a real treat. I came across a mod a couple years back (I'd have to search) that involved a Seas mid-woof upgrade and some damping added to the cabinet.

    Get your ears on them at least before you unload.

    I did a brief listen to make sure they worked, even though they look like new. They still work perfect.

    The tweeters ARE absolutely amazing, but I'd have to agree with most of the reviews online from my initial test...mods needed for best overall sound (especially to reduce boomy sound). Sounds like they would be incredible for HT surrounds if properly set up.

    I just don't think I have the desire to mod them, and I really don't need them.

    Thanks for the input. Any ideas what they might bring or if the forum or CL would be the best option for selling?

    I've owned both LX-5 and the smaller LX-4. That tweeter is indeed special. Either the 4 or 5 would be nice satellite material.

    I'm currently using a set as the rear surrounds with the LSi's and they play nicely together.
    There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction.
