Today my Samsung Blu-ray player arrived, props to Amazon, it would have been here in 3 days if not for the long holiday and the shipping was free. The Sammy will sit atop my HD-A1.

It was like Christmas today. The player arrived, my Monoprice HDMI switcher arrived and my DC copy of Kingdom of Heaven. Now to hook it all up and have some fun. For me this format war is now over.

Noel, here ya go... http://www.eHDMI.com they were great to deal with and shipped quick. These Monoprice swithers have great reviews over at AVS although I have yet to try it, tomorrow I'll have it all hooked up and running.

Thanks Ron. I have at least three components with hdmi outputs and my tv only has 1 input. Which one did you get? I guess I'll have to get the 5 to 1. I looked around on the web and found several other makes and most were priced quite a bit higher than this one, especially if they had remotes.

Let me know if you lose any PQ/SQ with yours.

I got the 2 to 1 as I only have the two players.

I hope to get everything wired up tomorrow but my trip to Disneyland may delay that.

After watching Kingdom of Heaven tonight (which is Mpeg2) I can honestly say that it is just as impressive as HD-DVDs PQ. Color saturation, sharpness, detail, black levels, it's all there and the resulting PQ is fantastic. I also spun parts of Pearl Harbor and it's just as impressive.

The Sammy player puts out a fine image and not a single hickup in the 3 hour Kingom of Heaven. Load times are about half that of my A1 but the menu nav seems to be about the same, maybe a bit faster but not by much.

I got the PS3 60GB before the Holidays and have 13 BD's. Compared to HD DVD (I also have the Toshiba HD-A1) I'm still not impressed with Blu-ray, so far "Flightplan" is my Reference disc!
