I have a pair of RT25i's that I'm not using. Can I hook these up for use on my DELL desktop? If so ... how? Thanks, Steve

Output from your soundcard (optical or digital coax would be best) to an AVR or pre-amp/amp to speakers.
JoeyV uses a pair of martain logan summits as his computer speakers and seems to think they are great.
They always say for audio - **** in = **** out, but in Joeys case - his **** don't stink...

The key thing is you will need an amplifier, either separate or in a receiver. As a computer sound card does not output enough power to directly drive those speakers very well.
You can directly connect the analog outputs (line out) of a computer sound card to a pre/amp or receiver.
But in my opinion, using a digital output (spdif/usb/network) and doing the digital-to-analog conversion outside of the computer. Will usually give better sound quality, then having an inexpensive sound card in the computer do it.
I have my computer connected via spdif to my Onkyo receiver. A true audiophile would use an external dac to a pre/amp. Some people use external usb/firewire boxes, like from M-audio. There are also some network and wireless streaming solutions.Win7 Media Center -> Onkyo TXSR702 -> Polk Rti70 -
here is a pic of my computer rig... i tried several "computer" speakers out there.. and was never happy with the sound.. esp the bass. Bass to me on most computer speakers was over blown and boomy.
this older gear/system i put together for about $325 all of it used.. some of it for as little at $15 for the speakers. they are Speakerlabs. Goodwill find.
It sounds way better than so called computer speakers.
The downside.. it takes up ALOT of desktop real estatePolkFest 2012, who's going>?
