Starting to Build a HT, Which configuration? 3CH or 2.1CH to start off.
I am looking to go with a LSI system.
Definately getting:
LSi 15's
2 Outlaw Monoblocks
Denon 3806 AVR
My budget either allows for one of the following in addition to whats listed above:
3CH configuration with LsiC + Outlaw Monoblock
or
2.1CH a subwoofer SVS/HSU costing the same amount as the center and amp.
....
Down the Road I will be buying the complete 5.1 configuration.

I'd go with the sub first, and add the center channel later (quickly).

I did not vote....because I think you can get both......
Why getting the 3806 AVR if you will be using the pre-outs and power from the monoblocks? You could get a Denon (or other) receiver with the same processing capabilities but half the power, and that saved money would let you have both options....._________________________________________________

My plan was to run the other speakers (surrounds off of the AVR) and not have to get amplifiers.
And are the DAC's, etc... in the 3806 much better than in the lower models?
ALso the 3806 is coming as a hand me down, that i am virtually borrowing. So most likely i will upgrade my AVR within a year or so...Click here To see My system

-If you will use LSi speakers, maybe you'll want an external amp even for surrounds
-You might have a point on the DAC's...I wouldn't know.
If I had to choose between Center and Sub, I'd go sub._________________________________________________

General Concensus seems to be to get the subwoofer first, but others please feel free to keep voting.
The room i have my TV in is 12 Ft Wide and about 26Ft Long with an open kitchen that was not counted into the calculation(8 ft ceiling).
Which sub would match with the LSI 15's the best and what would be best for my room.
Budget would be around 800 bucks. I could technically swing a little more if there was a significant upgrade.
SVS SB12-Plus 700
SVS PB12-NSD 600
Then theres HSU and Velodyne as well.
Are there any places to buy these online for cheaper than directly thru their websites?Click here To see My system

Your center ch gives most of your info on HT
a good sub is a must !
I am using the PC-Ultra in about the same size room...it really works well..
I have the PB10 and it doesn`t presurize the room as well , but still works well..
as far as subs go...get SVS IMO...
