How can I wire 2 subs together?

I have a RM1000 passive sub and a 404 powerd sub. The 404 was hit by lightning and I lost the amplifier. What I would like to do is run from the receiver to the RM1000 then to the 404 and run both as passive subs. The 404 does not work with the line level connectors so when I take the back off there are only 2 wires to the speaker. I would like to use the crossover from the RM1000 but don't know how.TIA.

PS: Does anybody know how much a pair of RT55I's with cherry finnish in excellent condition are worth? I have a pair that I want to list on ebay but don't know how much to expect. Thanks.:)

The problem with trying to run the extra sub and utilizing the RM1000's crossover is that the crossover will see a change in impedence versus what it's used to. It will alter the crossover point on both of them so that wouldn't be a good plan. I think that if the impedence on the crossover drops, it will double the crossover point meaning if it was 100 Hz, it will now be 200 Hz. (or is it the other way around?)

The best bet would be to buy a separate passive crossover for the 404 or get a new amp for the RM1000. You won't have any control over the sub if it's tied into a Home Theater set up either since it's using the receivers amp. Or is it for 2-channel?

Not sure on the RT55i's. Someone else will chime in on those I'm sure.

What about if I tie in after the crossover?

It is the amp on the 404 that is blown and when I inquired about a knew one it was about $200.00. Is it difficult to build a crossover, or will one from a car audio system work?
    Thanks.:)
PS: My system is 2 channel.

If I try to wire them after the crossover should I wire the 2 subs in series with each other or parallel?

Took the crossover out of the RM1000 and there are 4 wires going to the speaker, how would I connect them if I wanted to use it for the 404?
