how to pack a turntable for shipping

I need any help or suggestions for shipping a turntable. I sold one on the bay. and now i need to ship it over the holidays. anything special i should be concerned about?

It's been years since i packed one for shipping.

    I remember there were some "double T" plastic pieces in my Technics turntables that were inserted into the platter to make sure it was held down and couldn't move. I'd also throw some cardboard shims under the platter to prevent any banging damage to the body. Also make sure the tonearm is secure, you might want to remove the cartridge and pack that separately so that there's reduced exposure to damage.

    Okay, did a search and found this guide. Get out the foam babeee!

    Not much experience but you can lock down the platter with the one I have. An old, old Dual. And lots of foam or bubble wrap.
