In Wall Center?

I was thinking about using an in wall speaker for a center channel and wanted to see what you thought about it. A buddy of mine suggested building a shelf for a regular center channel but i am not really okay with that as i am trying to get a clean look.

I have a 100W per channel yamaha receiver (few years old) and 2 TC60i as rears. I will be switching out my fronts soon but currently are JBL floorstanding  speakers. I love the sound of polk and will be certainly be swapping those out very soon.

Either way, i was looking at the TC265i because there is a driver on each side of the tweeter. I am thinking that will be better than one with a single driver and single tweeter.... am i correct? Will the TC265 be better than the LC65i?

So all in all,
1. Is an in-wall center okay?
2. Do you think i can use a TC265i as a center?
3. Will it be better than a LS65i?
4. What would you recommend that i use for the center?

Thanks for your time in advance! I really appreciate it!!

    Welcome to Club Polk!

As far as what to use for your center, it really depends on what you end up replacing those JBL's with. The TC265i can definitely be used as a center, and is also a timbre match for the Polk RTi Series if this is what you replace the JBL's with. I wouldn't recommend the LC65i or LC265i, as they are a timbre match for the Polk LSi series speakers and would only be a solution if you were looking to upgrade your AVR as well, which I will assume is a "no" since you didn't indicate this.

Good luck with your system! There's a lot of good information on this forum that's already been discussed, so feel free to spend some time perusing around!

    Thanks szhleppy!

i am looking to replace the JBL's with the RTi series... and should have added that. I really appreciate your feedback and help!

it seems as though the in wall center may be an acceptable means for this channel.
