Two wolf names, two impressive contemporary bands. Wolfmother sounds like hard rock from the 70's. Wolf Parade is Montreal indie band with a great debut album, Apologies to Queen Mary. Check 'em both out if you haven't already.

The Wolf Parade album is one of the best albums of the year. Wolfmother is a little bit too much "I want to be 70s!" -- but they're okay. :)

True about Wolfmother. Last night when I was playing them my girlfriend asked, "Is this Ozzy Osbourne?"

Wolf Parade is badass. I saw them live at the Metro in Chicago and it made me like them even more. Great show.

Right on Demi! Great venues. I bet we've been at the same shows. In the last year I saw Band of Horses and Rogue Wave at Schubas Wolf Parade and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah at Metro...Metro is probably my favorite venue in Chicago.

I use the Wolfmother song, "Woman" on my computer to help get me up in the morning.

Good band, nice driving rock. If they're 70's, they're early 70's, ie, no late
    70's D I S C O !!

That song, along with 3 alarm clocks, usually does the trick. :)

I have thoroughly enjoyed Wolfmother since I have come into possession of their cd. Good 70's style rock. When music was really music.

Music has always been real music... You just have to know where to look, mainstream will never cut it anymore, but right below the surface is tons of bands do amazing things and producing some amazing stuff.

Of course, 70's is still good no doubts there.

Just listened to Wolf Parade, sounds good. Almost a Franz Ferdinand and Modest Mouse mixture.

I've listened to some Wolfmother and just didn't care much for it, too fake sounding to me.

Also, about Wolf Parade, I noticed they are on Sub Pop, that right there is reason enough to give a listen.

Wolf Mother are cool reminiscent of all the bands they sound like...so in some ways that's cool I personally like the sound. Their alsbum has a white stipes song, a sabbath song a zeppelin song etc. I like all that stuff so it's good by me just not necessarily original on their part. Might as well just listen to the real deal.

Wolf Parade probably the worst live show I've seen this year out of about 10 shows. The album imo opinion was just ok. They tried hard live but it just wasn't good. The label must have said ...I know you don't have a lot experience playing live but we've made an album now get in the van and start touring.

They can only get better, I think?
