Went to BB today to spend all my Gift Cards..
I got a new GPS...a Garmin NUVI 660
She speaks in an English accent...her name is EMILY !!!:p
Very cool gadget
Just thought I`d share...
The first one I got wouldn`t talk to me so I went back to exchange it, and found out the sold me a defective returned item..
I offered to reshape his melon for him and he decided to give me a brand new one...problem solved

Good question. Will you be taking it from one vehicle to another a lot, thus increasing the chance of dropping it? Will you be using it as a door stop? Will you use it as an exercise device, squeezing it until the little voice inside cries for mercy, thus strengthening your forearm? Will you be practicing the art of 'hackey-sacking' with it? Will you be using it in your quest to learn how to juggle? Are you prone to spit-takes into the dash/windshield while driving?George Grand wrote: »

Get the warranty, even with the padded case you'd be supirised at how easy it is to drop the thing. Even if it is just dropping it on the floor of your car you are still causing trauma to her.
Treat her nice and she'll always show you the way! -
That`s kinda what I thought also ..
Thanks BL

Beardog,
That is the exact GPS I have as well. Be sure to utilize the POILoader and Webupdater to get the latest firmware and load up all your favorite Points of Interest (POIs).
If you have any questions concerning the GPS just ask. Though it is limited by having only one "via" and not allowing you to save your route, the other capabilities far outweigh these negatives.Holydoc (Home Theatre Lover)

A "via" is a stop along your route to your final destination. For instance if you have several stops to make between point A and point Z, the Nuvi only allows you to enter one stop at a time. In other words if you wanted to stop at point B, C, and D along the way to Z, you could only program in point B on the Nuvi.
The way I get around it is by putting in my route as Point A to Z. Then I put in my one "via", Point B. Once I hit point B I then enter in my new "via" as Point C, etc., etc. Why this is inconvenient is that I have to make those plans to do that ahead of time so that I know the best order to put my "via"s in to ensure I take a good route. Other GPS's have the ability to input all your "via"s (Point B, C, and D) and will calculate on the fly which "via" you should hit first to optimize your trip.

Make sure you download as many personalized POI's that you may need. For instance I downloaded all the Walmart stores in the US. Because I take so many trips, I always seem to forget something. Since I know that Walmart will have some type of replacement for me, it is very convenient to pick up my rental car at the airport, plug in my destination point on the Nuvi to my hotel, and enter in one "via" to the nearest Walmart along my route to the hotel. That way the Nuvi takes me to a Walmart without ever having to wander too far off my route.Holydoc (Home Theatre Lover)

Thanks for the tips Doc..!
Yeah,I noticed that on the way back from BB
I had to re-enter everytime we decided to go check someplace out
I have`nt downloaded anything yet , but will tomorrow
I did notice that alot of times she would wait until I was right on the turn or exit before she said anything.
It recalculates really fast though...although it does need to be updated...
My reciever in the truck is a Alpine (older Model) and it works so well that finding a static, or unused channel was almost impossible, as the deck get something on every friggen spot on the dial....never thought I would complain about the reciever being too good..!!!
She works great just using the built in speaker anyway...I can actually hear it better that way...go figure..!!!!Cary SLP-98L F1 DC Pre Amp (Jag Blue)

I picked up the c550 a few months ago for my personal truck and love it. My travel **** name is Jill and she's dirty. The Bluetooth feature works ok but could be a little louder...but then again, a loud exhaust doesn't help thingsCTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Beardog,
Most Alpine headunits have an aux input plug. If you connect the Headphone jack of the Nuvi to your Aux of the Alpine, I think you will be very pleased with the results.

Well the map system is updated about once every 18 months. This means that your **** and the hole in the ground would have had to be mapped earlier. So tell us, has your **** been thoroughly explored before? If not then you will have to file a report to Navteq so that they can quickly send over Dr. Bendover to explore the new route so that they can get it mapped for the next edition.
