Looking for powerful amp in MA--will trade, well, anything

When I get my big Mac ML-2C's up and running I'll need some power to put behind them. Thinking about 200w+ per channel but something really spiffy in a lower power range could be interesting. A good preamp would be a plus, too.

In exchange, I have a rather large mountain of gear I'd trade. I'm perfectly willing to go overboard on my end for something I can use. Some speakers (midrange Klipsch and others) and a lot of components. Mostly amps and receivers in the 20-60W range (NAD, Luxman, Marantz, etc) plus tape decks, CDPs, and other bits. Also have a complete Bang & Olufsen Beosystem 7000 that needs some TLC. And a couple newer surround receivers.

Plus other things like camera equipment, tools (machining, woodworking, service, etc), and anything other oddball interest I've gotten too much stuff for.

Must be picked up in northeast Mass--considering the volume of stuff you can pick over I'm not stuffing it in a truck and hauling all over creation.

It sounds like someone's packrat skills have gotten out of hand :)
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

You don't know of the half of it. I'm one of those guys who can't pass up a good deal on audio equipment. Probably have along the lines of 35 different components and maybe five pairs of speakers. Now it's time to change all this stuff into equipment that fits into my future plans.

Oh yeah, I also have a working Marantz 2600 (the biiiig boy) but it would take one hell of a trade for me to cough that up.

I feel your pain but eventually you need to figure out what's worth the time and space.

I have a modified carver TFM-15cb that puts out 300 watts per channel at 8ohms. I would consider tradeing for some speakers.

Hence trying to unload most of it. Either that, or start putting full-size hi-fi systems in every room of the house, bathrooms and garage included.

Still looking. Gotta be someone in the area who's looking for a bunch of good gear.

I've had some questions about the speakers specifically. At the moment I have Ohm Walsh 4, Klipsch Heresy, Klipsch KG3, Realistic Mach One, and ElectroVoice Interface:A with equalizer. Also have a set of Polk Monitor RTA-11t but I'm a little reluctant to part with them.

I also live in MA. I would be interested in purchasing your tuna 9500-11.

Do all the lights work? Have you had any work done on it?

Sorry but I sold my Adcom pre and power amp 4 months ago.

    Email me if interested preagan1@hotmail.com

You have a lot of stuff.

I'd be very interested to know more about a 100wpc Carver TFM-15 that has been modified to realize 300wpc. Are you saying 300watts into 8 ohms in bridged mode? That is a litle more realistic.

    Tell me all about it.

At the moment I'm hanging onto the 9500. Only put it on the list in case someone wanted to make a big trade.

Still looking. I've almost made half a dozen deals but something always comes up.

I can fill your house with gear in exhange for an amp!

And no, I'm not a fence. Just a hardcore audio packrat.

Only 35 components and 5 pair of speakers? That's ABOUT 65 components and 10-15 pair of speakers short of "a lot".

Pump the kid about the 100wpc into 8 ohms Carver TFM-15cb that has been modified to deliver 300wpc into 8 ohms.. I'm still waiting for his answer to my question.

I have a Carver M00t that is 200w/channel @8ohms. The only thing is I would have to send it to you. That is one hell of a trip from TN.

the only thing I am really interested in is the 2600, and I don't think you would trade for that. Unless you have some hidden carver pre-amps in your stash. Also, which speakers are you putting on the chopping block? PM me with the details if you are interested.

Thanks for the offer, but I'd like to avoid shipping if possible--trying to find a local deal. Too easy for stuff to dissapear or get run over by a forklift.

Speakers are in post #12 above.

Looks like the Ohm Walshes, Yamaha CR-820, and SAE are spoken for.

Still looking for an amp, though. If anyone locally wanted to buy some of this stuff that's possible, too.
