My pal is looking for a cd player and I am thinking of getting one also.
What would you pick for under $800?

I'm looking at the Cambridge 640C v2, I like the DAC for each channel

Audio Physic Scorpio II
Pathos Logos
MIT Shotgun S3
Bada HD-22 CDP

    Lsi9,

I have a NAD C542 that's in near new condition [no nicks or scratches] that plays great and looks great. I'd rate it a 9/10 only because it's about a year old! It comes with the original box, manual, and remote. Retails for $499.99 I'll let it go for $325.00 shipped and double boxed to your door if you are interested. I'm selling because I bought a Jolida several months ago.
    2 Channel:
    Amp/Parasound Halo A23
    Pre/Carver C-1
    Tuner/Carver TX-11a
    CDP/Jolida JD 100A
    Turntable/AR XB-Shure V15 III

+1. The Rotel would be my personal #1 choice.
