R40 Troubles
Hey everyone,
I have had my r40s for 3 years now and I love them. Recently, one of the speakers was completely blown, both 5 1/4 woofers and the tweeter. What do you recommend? Is there a Polks parts website? How much would the replacement woofers cost do you think?
Thank you for all of your help. With this speaker out I am quite unhappy.

R40's? Time to toss them out and buy a new pair of R50's for $140
All that aside, it would probably be a better investment to upgrade your speakers now that you have reason to. The R series is solid, but you can upgrade to the monitor series for relatively little investment, especially if you purchase used.
However, if you just want to fix your speakers and that's all, shoot polk support an email or call them. Mention your a forum member, and they'll help you out with free return shipping.Lovin that music year after year.
