    Welcome to the club Jduawa!

It sounds like you have it hooked up right. One suggestion, you might try lowering the crossover for your sub to 80Hz and see how it sounds.

the problem i am experiencing is every time i change the source on the receiver i hear a "beat" out of the sub...how can i eliminate this...I dont think that happened when i had it hooked up through a speaker level connection
    thanks
