Lsi 25 hook up

Please help if you can
I have a new set of LSI-25s as I described in an earlier post
I upgraded from RTI-12s
I am a little perplexed as to how to cable everything
the way I have it set up now is as follows
standard speaker wire to the lsi's from the Rxv-2600 yahama a/v receiver
sub out from the a/v receiver to an old cerwin vega powered sub woofer
also the lsi/c is wired standard, as well as some kind of polk bookshelf rears
I do not understand the LFE thing
the a/v has lfe out but only 1 , and each of the lsi-25s have a lfe input
the cerwin vega sub has no lfe at all
also the other perplexing thing is
when I first installed the lsi's the sound was veyr diferent from the rti-12s and the base was incredable until I ran the yapo set up
now nothing is incredible, sounds ok but not worth the cost of the upgrade
maybe some on can educate my ignorate butt on the fine art of speaker set up
I have all this set up in a living room approx 20 x 24 with an older 65" rear projection tv (not HD) but I am using a HD digital cable box for the 5.1 surround broadcast.
also I understand that bi-wiring is a better way to go for the LSI's I d not quite grasp that concept either

You may need Y connectors to give the subs the signal needed.

run your subs with the sub preout(s)(may need a splitter) to the speaker lfe inputs and run your left and right fronts to the top terminals, jumpers removed mains set to small

I just want to be sure that I grasp it
as I understand what you suggested I run the subwoofer line out from the amp(Yahama RXV-2600) to the line in on the powered sub
and from the line out from the powered sub to the line in (not the lfe in) on the LSI-25s
I remove the jumpers from the LSIs and connect the speaker wire to the top terminals
and in base management I set the lsi speaker size to small

and just because I think I need to know
The fine sales person at Sound Advice (thats were I bought all of my gear)
told me that the yahama rxv-2600 had plenty of power to run the lsi-25s
but the more posts that I read the less true this statement appears
according to the specs in the owners manual
the minimum RMS power output is 130 watts per chanel @8 ohms
and the dynamic power (IHF) what ever that means
is 165w @8 ohms 205w @6 ohms and 340w @4 ohms
is that enough power or do I realy need to pony up and buy a power amp

I do intend to purchase a pair of the LSiFX surround speakers as soon as my allowance allows it or would you suggest something else for the rears (I am only running 5.1, I dont think my room is large enough for 7.1

in the meantime does it hurt to mix the 4 ohm lsi fronts and center with the 8
ohm rears? (polk book shelfs of unknown flavor)
Sorry for the questions but I am realy Ignorant when it comes to all of this but I want to set up a nice system

I've toyed around with the LSi25's, I've found the best response is to simply hook them up like any other speaker and use the jumpers.

The "high" section of the LSi25 has a passive high pass filter set at 80 Hz. Doing the "sub out" to line level input with speakers set to "small" will double filter the upper bass.

Of course- YMMV.

i agree. just hook them up like any other speaker.. the sub will kick in just fine on the LSi25's. I'd run them full range or on large on your receiver.

running this way(jumpered at full range) will overtax the yamaha at high levels
