Just found this tonight on the PS3 Marketplace. 10 cars + 10 tuner versions of the cars available to try out on one track. Both Time Trial and Drift modes available. Top 10 users in each car/category are displayed online! (I'm #11 for Celica drift)
I gotta say, this is the main reason I bought a PS3. It may be quite a while before the full version comes out, but I will wait patiently, and probably won't even buy many games until then.

The problem with GT and PS1&2 were that the selection of wheels and pedals was very poor. I'd love to get around the old Ring and only GT has the track but the lack of good controls is holding me back on PS3 purchase. Do they have USB on PS3 so I can hook up my Logitech Momo in it? I think I heard they have USB but no definate word if PC controllers are going to have drivers, or if PS3 supports them.

Knowing Sony they will propably want to sell their own prop. controls... :(

All the official Gran Turismo wheels have been logitech brand, so I think you should be good with the PC one.

My jaw dropped to the floor when I first saw the demo in action. It looked as though you are watching a TV broadcast, but in fact it's actual gameplay. Amazing....

Is it just me or is the analog steering pretty touchy? I would think by now there would be a preference to adjust the response curve of the analog controls on Sony's consoles.

Still, its a wicked game. My wife came in while I was watching a replay and asked me what movie I was watching...

Unfortunately there will be no final GT:HD build, there will be this demo but the next game they are releasing will be GT5 which is scheduled to be released late this year or possibly even 2008. I am thinking about picking up a PS3 today because of this demo as well as having the perk of Blu-ray playback. Anything else you PS3 owners recommend as far as games besides Resistance?

AFter resistance, I have been playing my PS2 games Splinter Cell: Double Agent and God of War. If you don't have them, they are both great games regardless of the platform... and cheap!

I plan on getting COD 3 sometime soon, though.

How is the backwards compatability? I have seen some images of major scaling issues with PS2 games on the PS3. Also what resolution screen are you playing on? As of right now I have a 720p native display and I know the PS3 lacks a scaler but do you think that resolution would pose any problems?

I have an older Sony KV-32HS500 Conventional Tube 32" Wega that does 720p/1080i. So, I don't have any scaler issues. I can tell you that both GOW and Splinter Cell look just as good on the PS3 as on the PS2 and I think they are displaying at 480p.
From the list of games I saw with jaggie issues, I wasn't all that worried. About 20 games, most of them weren't anything I own or would buy.

here is a URL for a long thread on the issue from the playstation boards:
