Cannon Camera ?

I have an old Cannon T70 35mm camera setting in a closet. I bought this back in probably 1985. It's had very low use, is in mint shape, has an additional zoom lens and flash unit. I didn't see any recently on eBay. Is this worth trying to sell, or something to put in the Goodwill/Salvation Army box?

My Sony 5.1 digital camera does everything I need a camera to do! So I have no reason to keep or use this. Thanks!

    They've gone for $40-60 on eBay depending on options. With your extras maybe a little more.

    It's a good camera, a very unusual one. One of the last FD-mount cameras ever made. If I had any Canon stuff (I'm Minolta) I'd buy it.

    sell it.. on Craigslist or Epay. or donate it to your local high school photography class. :)

    back when i was in hs.. i had a Canon A1 .. it was the bomb... way head of it's time.. excellent camera for it's time. Worked great untill the battery would die.. then it was just a paperweight. :eek: ;)

    I didn't think about a high school, I guess I assumed they would be using all digital cameras by now!

    not sure.. it's been.. ahemmm a few (cough, cough) years since i was in HS. :eek: :D it would be worth a call to your local HS though .

    A Cannon Camera would give a whole new definition to the term "shooting pictures" :)

    JFYI, the T70 and T90 are still highly sought after. If it was a T90, we'd be talking.

    Polkers - when I bought it I wanted the T90, just couldn't swing it at that time! The camera has always taken great pictures, even with an amateur like me running it! I'll check with the local high school and see if they still use film cameras. If not then I guess it's off to eBay.

    KEH is a photographers store in Atlanta and takes trades and buys used equipment. I got a real good deal trading an old Minolta 35mm. Might give em a call before auctioning.

    I second KEH. Great place to buy equipment as well.

    Unfortunately, the paradigm shift to digital has made much of the used film camera market crash in value.

    seo - the move to digital is why I didn't know if film cameras had any value at all! I'm going to check with some local high schools first, and if they don't want it then I'll throw it on eBay.
