Review at cnet.com on the 5.1 version, RX-DP9V

The RX-DP10V was positively reviewed by The Perfect Vision in its January/February 2002 issue. The review is available online but requires you to register with the magazine's site. Basically, the "complains" were lack of Dolby Pro-Logic II and dts ES-Discrete 6.1 and short on coax digital inputs. Otherwise, the review said this receiver sounds "terrific".

The receiver is heavily discounted because it's been discontinued. JVC has moved on and all of its receivers now use class-D amplification.

I selected this receiver for my brother's 7.1 HT set up in 2002/early 2003(??). He uses this receiver with RTi38's, CSi30, 2 sets of RTi28's and a PSW505. It has worked flawlessly. It is a fantastic unit. In fact, I am tempted to buy it at this price. For reference, my brother paid $1000 for this unit. They also have 15 and 20 (numbers) models in this series. JVC had a separate high end audio line years ago (digifine and super digifine lines). These were very respected components.

You're right about the model # 15 and 20. As I remember it, JVC produced these models for perhaps 2-3 years and then dropped them when it went Class D. They are had very decent professional reviews when available.
