Hi there.
This is my first post here at the forum. I bought a pair of RTi8 9 months ago. I use them as frontpair in a 5.1 system, and I think they do fine together with Harman Kardon AVR235 for movies. But, there is a but, and that is when I would like to hear 2ch Stereo. I feel there is missing some power.
I wondered if there is anybody out there having any suggestion for an power amplifier to be used toghether with RTi8 and the H/K 235 as an preamp? Or any suggestion for an amplifier.

The room is about 35m2 (4x7meters).

Best regards
jov

    Welcome...

I used that combination for a short time and you'll definitely notice a big improvement even with a modest integrated or 2 channel amp. The inexpensive Audiosource amp in my sig was great, but a beefier amp will be better. Look used, ~ 200wpc, Rotel, Adcom, Carver, B&K, etc....depending on your budget or location (meters?).

    Good luck.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

yes, I've seen a lot of power amps lately but I can't decide. It is ok to hear wath other is think. So thank you a lot. My location is Norway, we use the metric system:) I'm looking for a used power amp and everyone you have listed up it is possible to get here. I'm not sure about B&K, I see that is also an american one but is not availabel over here.

I have Polk RM7400, RM7302, RM7300 and RM6901 with AVR235 7.1 HT setup. I had same felling as you did. When using AVR235 to drive the 7 speakers, I was always thinking the speakers need more power. So, I just added a H/K PA5800 power amp to push 5 speakers and left 2 surround back to AVR235.
It is a huge difference, the sound stage is opening up and the sound is dynamic. I don't fell the wall barrier in my ht room. I felt like just right in the scene. My H/K PA5800 is only rate at 80wpc and the AVR235 is 50wpc. But it makes huge different. I am not a expert to find out the reason. I think some one in the forum should be able to answer it.

You might want to check out Outlaw Audio. www.outlawaudio.com This is an internet based company only, but dont let that scare you. They have great products and great customer service. You can also send back anything within 30 days of receiving it. By not having "local dealers" (cuttin out the middleman) you save a lot of money.
