connecting two stereos?

I have two stereos in seperate rooms, can I use the tape in and out to connect them. If CD changer or tuner is in one room connected to one stereo as usual, can I use the tape out on that one connected to the tape in on the other stereo? Might need some type of repeater for the remote if needed. Haven't seen any hooked like this but why wouldn't it work?

I think it should work. There could be some ground-loop issues, but that's hard to predict without actually trying it. I think I would use two runs of RG-6 (L/R) for shielding and to minimize signal loss, especially if you're going further than 15-20 ft. You should also be careful not to set up some kind of feedback loop if you connect in > out and out > in on both systems. Using the tape monitor loops, I think you should be okay, since they don't feed the monitored "tape" signal back out the tape output.

Thanks for the reply. Don't think I'll have trouble with feedback loop, only using tape-out from one to tape-in on the other.
