New member here. I have a 12x16 room I want to make over into a home theatre utilizing Polk speakers. Approximate budget=$1,200-$1,500. What do you guys recommend, and where do I physically place the speakers?
Thanks in advance.

What components do you have right now? I have a similar sized room and had a similar sized budget. . . got all my speakers at Tweeter onsale for half price. Check my sig out for HT and you'll be off to a good start.

If you go used, you could get RTis all around and still be within budget.

Welcome Jeff! I'm new here myself. You'll find a lot of people here that are very knowlegable about sound and you'll get help quickly. This forum seems to me to be "relaxed" which I really enjoy.

As for your speaker placement question, another member here told me to download and/or read "The Home Theater Handbook" which can be found at the following link: http://www.polkaudio.com/education/hthandbook.php

It's an intersting read and you'll learn a lot from it including speaker placement.

    Hope this helps!

it is buy 1 get 1 free on their Monitor series equivalents. When I have been in there, the sale does not appear to apply to RTi or LSi
