Conflict on SUBWOOFER wiring

I have purchased and am installing the RM6750 Home Theater System to a Yamaha V1600 A/V Receiver.

It is a top end receiver/amp and does have a subwoofer "preout" via RCA and a subwoofer "out" via RCA. The owners manual for the RM6750 suggests that the best way to wire the 8" Subwoofer is series via the Subwoofer from the Front L/R to Subwoofer then Subwoofer out the actual front speakers L/R.

I have read conflicting recommendations via this forum.

Polk Audio Tech, which way will give me the best bass response with widest range?

Thanks, SailorBob

If you have adjustable crossovers in your AVR, I would wire the sub via RCA's - all speakers to small and sub to on. (crossover at 150 but test it higher than that as well) Be sure to wire it to the unfiltered input on your sub (or at least turn the crossover all the way up on the sub).

If you do not have adjustable crossovers, I would wire through the the front right and left speaker outputs. Font speakers to large, rest to small, sub to off.
