Where's the Silk?

Hello again,
I picked up my first set of Polks a week or so ago - as pair of RTA-11t with the silver coil tweeters. After reading some posts in this forum on the improvement that could be achieved with the silk dome tweeters, I called Polk and ordered part # RD0194-1. After the typical holidy shipping woes with Fedex this time of year (who could not find my house) I picked up the new tweets today. Just to be sure I had what I had wanted, I called the Polk customer service center in San Diego before installing them to check. The customer service rep had no idea what silk dome meant, so she transferred me to a "tech'. He also had no idea what I meant when I said, does the term 'silk dome' mean anything to you? He transferred me to someone else...a nice guy who seemed very helpful. He knew the term "silk dome" and said the description of the part reads silk dome....HOWEVER..he said 'let me chech the spec sheet". He read the spec sheet and said that it said it had a plastic dome. Huh? Ok, I am not speaker expert like many folks on this forum, so excuse the ignorance...but what's the scoop here? Where's the silk, if the Polk rep said the spec sheet said they were plastic? As a side note, I did install the new tweets, it was easy (even for me:) ) And, they do sound nicer. I don't have enough listening time to know how much nicer yet :) but what exactly does Silk Dome infer and why would the spec sheet not specifically mention it? Thanks!!

To the best of my knowledge they are rubberized silk domes. The original SL2000's used a plastic type material.

I believe we have a winner. All cloth domes must be coated to allow them to maintain their shape. Polk's is coated with a rubber compound.

Can you give an in-depth review of the new tweets? I have a pair of stock Monitor 11t's (same thing as an RTA-11t, just a year older) that I've been considering upgrading. Worth the money?

I sure offer a better reviewl after I have had a chance to listen some more.
The initial impression is much like what others have said (which I why I bought these in the first place :)) warmer sounds, a bit less harsh. I notice it much more in vocals..the more intimate the vocal channel, the more I notice it...sounding good so far.
