Binding posts broke on F/X 1000! :(
I own Polk F/X 1000 speakers and I was inserting speaker wires using banana plugs on one of the binding posts of my left surround speaker and the part inside the binding post broke, all four of them. Not my fault, for last 4 years I didn't use banana plugs and decided to use it today and it broke. I'm using banana plugs on Polk RT800i, CS400i, RTi6 with no problems!
Is it possible to replace to binding post plate?
Have you ever had such a problem:(

Man that sucks I never heard of a binding post breaking because of a banana plug being used but I guess there's always a first time. If you can't fix it I have a extra pair of FX1000 x-overs which were part of a previous project that are now not being used, if you need them PM me and we can work something out.
Good luck

Thanks Dave, I've emailed to Polk Audio Customer Service and see what happens. I bought mine in 2002 and as far as I remember they came with 5 year warranty which means I still have 1 year left in warranty. If Polk covers this issue under their warranty it would be awesome.
BTW, how much your're going to sell me the binding post plate. Is it easy to replace it or need soldering. I've no experience with soldering. It would be a nightmare to do it:(Panasonic TH-50PX80U Plasma HDTV

If you still have Polks warranty then I know that they will treat you right I have even experianced after warrent support on some issues. But incase you have no other recourse I can sell you my pair for $30 shipped the crossovers include everything all you have to do is unscrew the binding post which is attched to the x-over, unplug the speaker wires and unscrew the dipole knob then reverse the operation no big deal at all and no special skills needed.
Good luck and I'm sure Polk will do their best to help.

Do you happen to have a pairr of fx-1000 lying around unused for parts?SRT For Life; SDA Forever!
The SRT SEISMIC System:
Four main satellite speakers, six powered subs, two dedicated for LFE channel, two center speakers for over/under screen placement and three Control Centers. Amaze your friends, terrorize your neighbors, seize the audio bragging rights for your state. Go ahead, buy it; you only go around once. -
No sorry I don't have an extra pair of 1000's but do have a pair of 50's though.
