Monitor 7 question?

Hey guys, I just bought a pair of Monitor 7's off of Ebay which I am going to use at home so I don't have to move the SDA's again. Will I be able to run these with my Harmon Kardon avr 235 reciever. I am not sure if these are 8 ohms or lower and what kind of power they require. Thanks

    Congrats on the awsome win... Yes the H/K you have will do just fine. H/K and Polk go together awsomely (like they were ment for each other IMO:p ). 6ohms are what they are rated, if they are the older model (original 7's, 7a's, 7b's, and 7c's). The newer 7 series 2 I believe are 8ohms. Do you know what model you won? That would tell us alot. And again congrats.

    I'm not sure what version they were. The pics were of the grills on only so I don't even know if they have the peerless tweeter or not. But the guys feedback was good and the speaks seem to be in good shape. I gotta decent deal on them as well, as I only paid $60. The item # for ebay is 230062373558. I would appreciate it if you guys can tell what version they are from this.

    Cool, I look forward to checking them out when they get here. I was hoping they are the peerless tweeters, just based on what I've heard about them. However, I suppose I can't go wrong either way.

    Nice score for an awesome price. The Monitor 7 is a classic speaker. The HK will run them just fine.

    After receiving the speakers, they are the series 2 with the sl2500 tweeter. They sound pretty damn good. Seems to be a warm sounding speaker. The sl2500 does not seem to be as bright as the sl2000's were when I got my Sda 2a's. I'm definitely in a good mood now, tough to beat these speaks for $60!

    Great steal!!!! You can't touch SQ like that for anywhere near that price.

    They are my favorite conventional(non sda) Polk speaker, though I've only just starting to get acquainted with my LSi7s/9s.

    BTW, mine are 7As w/Peerless tweets.

    I had these on my watch list and the auction ended before I realized it. I got sidetracked that night. I was pissed. Nice buy, and the shipping was cheap too.

    Not that I know of. Right now I am using the H/K as a preamp, as I brought home the adcom to use as an amp. They really sound good. I bought these as secondary speakers so I wouldn't have to transport the SDA's. I had no idea these sounded this good. I've been listening to vinyl almost nonstop for the last couple of days!

    Upon some research it appears that I have the monitor 7c's instead of the series 2. I confused tweeters and currently have sl2000's. Strangely, they do not sound as bright as the 2A's did with the same tweeter. Did any other versions of the monitor 7's come with sl2000's? Is there any other way to tell them apart?
