Ive just recently purchased a set of SDA SRS 2.3tl's from unc1207 (awesome guy and sale btw). And at the moment i havem connected to an Adcom 545. Now while the Adcom can push em, they are lacking at lower volume and impact. And its my guess its the small amount of wattage their getting, so im looking for something 200x2 at the minimum.
Im not very partial to any specific brands, Adcom, Carver, Parasound etc would all be great. My budget right now is around the $500 mark. No im not expecting gold, but im sick of the ebay/audiogon route.
So if anyone has something that they know will do my new toys justice just let me know and we can go from there.
Thanks and Happy Holidays
Dave

You can get an Adcom 555 for around $350. It will push the SDAs real nice.
Are you going to biamp them? You can use the 545 for the highs and the new amp for the lows. -
I have been looking for one actually, but either im too late on audiogon or the price goes above and beyond what i think one would be worth on ebay.
Also while i do like the sound of my 545 i would like to try something else just for the sake of trying something else. But i would jump on a 555/5500 in a heartbeat if i could find a decent unit at a fair price.
As far as biamping, i would do so depending on what i've found. Was also thinking i may use the 545 to power the rears in a 5.1 setup, thinking about trying an all SDA home theatre setup. Using the 2.3tls as front and my set of 2a's as rears. Not so sure about what i would use as a center channel but ill figure it out by the time i start looking for a new one.
Ok im getting off topic as usual hah, and its time to go eat. Thanks

Here is a big favor. Take a look at these. You can buy them now for $449 and you will never, never find a better set of mono blocks, at this price, with the power, presence and energy of these Kenwood L-07Ms. Never.
Don't believe me, well read up.

i'm not so sure you can use mono blocks with SDA's.. I could be wrong though.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

I actually got pretty lucky this weekend and was able to score two 555mkII's locally on craigslist for $425. Both are in awesome shape and sound great.

I'm running an all (well, almost all) SDA surround 5.1 setup using a pair of SDA SRS 2.3TL's up front and a Pair of SDA 2B's in the rear. The center channel is being handled by a Polk CS 400 which sounds very good with SDA's. I'm also bi-amping the 2.3TL's with a Carver TFM 35X for the lower frequencies and a Carver TFM 15CB for the upper frequencies. I'm using another TFM 15CB to handle the rear channels and a TFM 6CB bridged for the center channel. Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents.shoester5
