While flipping through the Dec. 06 Maxim, I came across a familiar sight- a big picture of the Polk SR6500 on page 56.
They had a couple of kind words to say, and profiled some other gear as well:
Kicker L5 12" Solobaric subs, Pioneer AVH-P7800DVD head unit, Sirius Starmate 4, Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.2 etc.- some reasonable company.
Then they wrecked it IMO, suggesting you power the setup with some Sony Xplode XM-2002GTR amplifiers.
It would be interesting to see how many readers take Maxim's advice and grab up the SR6500s based on profiling the equipment in the mag. Hopefully Polk doesn't have to contend with a crapload of warranty claims from people who tried to power them with "1200 watt" Xplode amps
as a result.

i don't think the sony could perform 1200 watts in a normal situation

Was this the issue with Borat on one cover and Angelina on the other? I didn't notice the SRs, but the I-Sonic was the #4 thing to get on the Xmas wish list they had.Brian Knauss

An issue or two ago of DUB had the SR6500's and SR124 on the new product page.
