Combing from my Comcast HDTV box

Does anyone know how to correct this problem? I'm assuming it is probably an anomaly in the MPEG decoder in the Motorola box. It only does it when there are bright white lights, moving spot lights like a concert, lightning, flasbangs, etc. Thanks.

Assuming you aren't using a composite or coax connection between the box and tv (if you are you should be shot).
Sounds like your combing may be an interlacing/deinterlacing artifact. You may want to play with your cable box output settings, to see if you can make things better (or worse ).
With my TimeWarner pioneer hd cable box. I can set the cable box, so that it:
1) outputs the same signal (eg. only 720p), no matter what the source signal (1080i,720p,480p,480i). In which case the cable box does interlacing/deinterlacing. Note, if you do this, and the output doesn't match your hdtv, your tv will also then have to interlace or deinterlace (double processing).
2) output the source signal as received (1080i,720p,480p,480i). Your hdtv then does the interlacing/deinterlacing. This is usually the prefered option, as hdtvs are usually better at conversions.Win7 Media Center -> Onkyo TXSR702 -> Polk Rti70 -
Thanks. I'm using a component connection feeding my plasma 720P. I had it connected HDMI for a few weeks. It wasn't any better. I only have option 1 on my box. I can't set it to simply pass the signal. I can watch the same thing on a DVD and it doesn't do it, so I know it's the CATV box.
