I'm not incredibly knowledgeable in this field, however, Sean(Zero) introduced me to a great set of speakers called the x-series from AV123. From what Sean, and many other happy customers have said about these, they are incredible little suckers, they may push you over budget but if you got 2 pairs of x-ls and one of their x-cs, it comes out to 580 before tax and shipping and all that junk, however they don't come with a sub so it will probably push you over budget. Just my 2 cents.
Good luck and have fun man.

The only difference btn the RM10 and RM20 is the front "mains", the center and surround will be the same. You might consider buying the RM10s and take the free sub from Crutchfield - $599. Crutchfield will pay the return shipping and you can trade in for the RM20. For your size room, the PSW10 should be fine. I use the PSW303 in a room much larger and it does a good job. If you spent the extra $100, you will be fine.

In terms of sub size - I learned many years ago (when I bought my first sub) that size is not always king. I heard some low end 12" subs then a definitive tech 10" and a velodyne 8", and these smaller subs killed the same priced 12" subs.

You could also try the Mirage Nanostats $599 at Crutchfield. I heard these in the Magnolia/Best Buy, and they sounded very good for HT. They were using an upgraded center channel, so I am not sure how they would sound with the regular satellite as the center. I don't know how all the reflected sound will do for music though.
