    Funny thing, RT1 and I were talking about AI-1's Sunday and he was wondering what the guts of your Avel looked like. He suggested that I do to yours what you did to that tweeter......lol. Don't worry, it was all in fun and isn't going to happen.

    BTW, he's shipping his custom AI-1 to me, so that I can compare all three versions. Cool huh!?!

    Toroid is simply a ferrous metal doughnut with wire wound around it. Feel free to take the box apart and tinker with it. There are two sets of windings on this one. One set has more turns than the other, so you can do step up/down if you choose. You can tell which are matched if you use an ohmeter. No chop saws, though!

    I got the upgraded tweets yesterday (2 of them). Installed but haven't had time to listen yet. This was the bad SL3000 I took out.

    Sorry I think that's a lie as if done both transformers would be cut in half, killing them. You would need to cut in a L pattern.

    Or is this being too nerdy? :eek:
