Buy it Now for $300, one tweeter needs to be replaced.
I know I've heard you guys upgrading tweeters and such, so I don't know how daunting a task that is. May be worth it if it's not too hard.

Not positive, but I think that tweeter is availble from parts express for only $50 or so. Great deal for someone with a little know how.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

    I'm hijacking this one. . .

How do you look up what kind of tweeter is in your speakers to figure out what replacmenent to order?

I wanted to experiment with something a little different from the metal domes in my Thiels but wasn't sure what I could try that would a) fit and work properly and b) potentially sound better than the metal domes. I hear great things about Vifa tweeters, but would any Vifa tweeter fit and work in the Thiel's?

I took out a tweeter to look for model / parts #, etc., but wasn't much on there. Not even enough to google.

Well, the sure fire way would buy it for $80 from Polk.

If you want to replace the tweeter you should replace match pair at the same time not just one so in this case it will cost ~$100. AndyGwis, I wouldnot mess with the Thiel's tweeters unless you find the better match in most spec. Cheers.

If you are thinking about changing the tweeter in a Thiel....you need to look for another speaker. It's not the tweeter, it's you.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
