Thanks for the input. That Mimi Vee looks to me in my price range. Might still go up to the spl 1000 if I can get a good deal. I'm running the sub on coaxle, long run inside a wall.

I have one question: Why would you buy a "SUB"woofer that only goes down to 28Hz? That is the published lower extension on the minivee.

For the same price you can get a number of SVS subs with much greater range, and output. Call Erik at SVS and discuss your requirements with him.

FWIW, I have both a Minivee and a couple of SVS subs. The one thing I don't like about the minivee is the auto-on doesn't kick in as early as I'd like. It is a nice little sub, but it doesn't go down into real sub territory.

It's slightly bigger, will get down to 20hz in small to medium sized rooms, sealed, PEQ, balanced, unbalanced, no remote, several finishes. Unfortunately only obtainable through SVS...$700-850 depending on finish. SQ should be similar to the SPL 1200. If you need a small footprint sub this is a great alternative.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE
