I went over to a buddy of mine's apt Saturday, after work, to deliver him the ASL Wave 20s and McAlister ML-33 preamp. Well after getting everything set up, I noticed the speakers we were testing the gear out with were some old Wharfs. I asked what model they were and he replied W70Ds. They were in excellent condition, to boot. Well, after everything warmed up, got biased, we threw in some Robert Cray.

BAM!!!, those old Wharfedales kicked ****. He even said, he had never liked them until then.

Has anyone else had any experience with this model? I can't seem to find any specs anywhere on them, but they are the endtable-looking type with four drivers and they are sand weighted cabinets, too...about 75lbs each, +/-.

He called me just a bit ago and was even happier after dropping in some NOS Amperex Bugle Boy 12AX7s in the Waves...said they made everything oopen up even more.
