I'm a Dire Straits / Mark Knopfler fan and this evening I've been listening to Dire Straits first album- One I've not listened to as much as some of the later stuff.
This is a great album. Sounds good too, as this was the first time I've ever listened to it on the SRS 2's, and there's some good SDA effects there.
I hear something funny though: On track 8, Wild West End, almost at the end of the song at 4:23 I hear a pop as if a piece of equipment was switched in or out. I'm trying to decide if it's actually in the recording or if it's some kind of defect on the disc I'm playing. Anyone care to check that out and report back?

I don't hear it with a quick listen on the LS90's. I'm using the Warner Remasters series from 2000. Catalog #9 47769-2Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

Hmm..
Thanks Russ. I can hear it clearly on mine- You'd hear it, no problem.
I bought this disc used, I think, from a seller on Amazon marketplace. It's marked, WEA International 800051, 1999.
I think I've got a burned copy (not a copy of this particular disc) around here somewhere. If I can find it, I'll see if it's got the same 'pop'. -
just played it over a couple times,no pop
it is a great disc for sdaI thought it was fairly amusing also. The Polk Ogre doesn't always get 'it' -
