I am trying to put together a real econo surround system for watching movies. I have Polk m311s and a Polk CS200 center with aiwa rears and a phillips sub. I can get a used Marantz 4400 5.1 receiver or a new (refurb) Onkyo Tx-Sr504 for around $150. Any ideas on which would be better?
Thanks, Rich:confused:

I've owned Onkyo, I like Onkyo, I recommend Onkyo. It just seemed to drive everything I threw at it. And for the 4 years I have owned it, not a single problem.

P.S. I would also recommend checking out a new (refurb) harman/kardon. The 235 should be in your price range.

    Harman/Kardon AVR-635

And I believe the Onkyo 504 is 6.1, which might come in handy later on.

Yes the Marantz is 6.1 also. I will check the H/K you suggested, but I haven't seen anything from them on Ebay or anywhere else at that cheap a price.

The H-K sounds better than an Onkyo.
