Budget HT setup (need receiver and sub)

Okay, so my brother loves my HT setup and wants something similar, but he just graduated and isn't making enough dough to get anything substantial. Asthetics aren't terribly important, and I'm fine with buying used from ebay, audiogon, or here.
So, I figured I'd get him a starter HT as a combo gift for his Bday and Christmas. Just needs to be 5.1 with some digital inputs, etc.
I just snagged the 5 S4's from Candy for $120, so that gets the speakers out of the way. I figure 5 exact matching speakers would be great, Polk is obviously a good choice, and can't beat that price.
That leaves two needs:
HT Receiver (any respected brand, 5.1, decent shape, remote, digital ins, prefer pre-outs in case he gets some cash and wants to toss in an amp). $100 would be good, but flexible for the right item. I was thinking HK 135/235 from HK ebay seller would be good option, if needed.
Subwoofer (maybe for $50 I could get an old PSW202 or something)
So, make an offer if you have something (especially local yokels to DFW and/or Austin), or let me know what might fit the bill (what products to look for and where).

This H/K 230 is in the flea market for $150, is in Dallas, and has pre-outs.

You think I would've seen that Thanks for the heads up, I'll ping him about the AVR.
If I get that, he'll be off to a great start and can get the sub down the road for himself : )Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand

Hey Andy, I have a mint condition PSW-10, original box, etc. I'm looking to get $100 for it. If I remember correctly, the PSW10 is the newer and improved version of the PSW202. Actually, if anyone is interested, just let me know.

Thanks, guys, I'll keep your sub options in mind. However, I think I'm already over my expected budget with the speakers and HK. . . so, I'm likely gonna tell him to just find his own.Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand
