So I ordered and received this print:

10113699A.jpg

I decided that when it arrived I really liked the look of it. It also had some print info on the bottom in white lettering(on the black matte) that I wanted removed.

I decided to use Big Picture Framing company in Woburn, MA for the task. Any of you who have had prints and other pictures professionally framed(wood or metal frame, glass front, foam back, etc.) know that it is not cheap by any means.

I gave them strict instructions to remove the lettering off the bottom and then frame the print. At the bottom of my receipt it says in capital letters:
"TRIM OFF PRINT ON BOTTOM".

Today I received a call stating that it is ready. I went down there to pick it up only to notice that they hadn't removed the lettering! Also, the frame covered about half the letter the entire way down the bottom. It looked foolish! On top of that in the bottom left corner you could see about 1/2 the lettering and by the middle of the print you could only see 1/4 of the lettering! THEY FRAMED IT CROOKED!

To make a long story short, I asked them to redo the entire thing and call me when it is acceptable. They said it will be done tomorrow.

Anyhow, I've been waiting a while for it and I'm just aggrivated at this point since I have the other 2 matching prints that I will need to get framed as well eventually.

Annoyed today,

I can see exactly how this happened, you tell the person at the counter that you want the lettering removed and it gets boilded down to "TRIM OFF PRINT ON BOTTOM". The person that actually does the framing gets the instructions "TRIM OFF PRINT ON BOTTOM". What the hell does that mean, I mean it is a print, it doesn't say anything about removing the lettering. Does that mean take a 1/4 inch off the bottom of the print? Who knows.

The same crap happens anytime the person that's taking your instructions is not the person doing the work.

Reguardless of their interpetation of it, don't you think they should have called and asked? Or maybe asked the salespersons name on the receipt what it meant? Rather than just ignored the section on the receipt that says "Special Instructions:"

Yes they should have, it just seems like that type of poor service is so common these days.

So... if it's so expensive, and everyone's incompetent... why not buy a frame and do it yourself? Is it just a time thing? Trimming and framing something can be time consuming but by no means is it impossible to do.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

I just didn't have the time to do it and incompetence isn't really something you plan on happening :)

yea, there are only 12 prints in his collection, and the picture quality is just really neat when you see it in person, I plan to get the entire collection.

Incontinence is the rough equivalent of ... **** happens ...

Avoidance of incompetence requires permanent residence on some other more advanced planet ...
