Amp Troubleshooting

I purchased a new Outlaw 7500 5 channel amp and after hooking it up cannot get sound out of any of the channels except for a hum out of the right main. I'm connecting it to a Denon 3806 AVR. I have an older 2 channel amp that works fine off the Denon pre-outs. When I switch the left and right front RCA input cables at the amp, the hum still comes off the right channel. When I unplug the right RCA cable the hum stops and no sound at all. Outlaw has sent me a replacement amp and the exact same symptoms appear. I don't think its the amp for this reason. Outlaw tells me they never have problems with the 7500. I'm using banana plugs on the speaker wires and they are hooked up correctly. The RCA cables are new monster audio cables and I have tried an older set with the same results. The switch on the back of the Outlaw is set to unbalanced. There is no switch on the back of the Denon. I'm about to give up this just makes no sense. Any ideas?:(

that is very odd indeed. Seems like the Denon and the Outlaw are not compatible.. which doesn't make any sense. what type of cables are you using between the Denon and the amp? RCA or the three pronged ones (XLR)?
i could understand if you were getting a hum.. on all channels.. but some of them you aren't getting any sound OR hum from.
Does the other old amp.. is it two channel or 5 channel? And you get sound from all channels out of it?PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

They are new RCA cables, the Denon does not have the balanced outputs. The older 2 channel amp works perfectly.Denon 3806 Receiver

Run an analog output directly from your DVD player into the outlaw and see if it works.
