For sale is a Musical Fidelity X-10 v.3 Tube Buffer. I got this on my doorstep today and haven’t even hooked it up. I went in another direction, so I don’t need it. Retail is $399. Stock photos are below (I'm too lazy to take pics of the actual unit).

Price is $250 plus shipping. PayPal is preferred. PM me if interested.

Here’s some more info:

Stereophile "Class A" Rated and The Absolute Sound Editor's Choice Award Winner!

The X-10v3 is based on the Musical Fidelity exclusive Mu-Vista (kW) tubes and is guaranteed to add the magic of tubes to any system without adding any significant noise or distortion. The new Mu-Vista tube is Musical Fidelity’s highest performance tube to date. It’s more linear and quieter, with better performance capabilities than either their highly regarded Nu-Vista or Tri-Vista tubes. The X-10v3 is a tube output stage that can be added to any system; perfect behind any digital player, in a tape monitor loop or between your preamp and amp. Turn your CD or any other affordable digital player into the tube-hybrid player of your dreams. Add it between your amp and preamp or into a processor or tape loop and hear every single source component come to life in a spectacular way. Once in place, you will hear an added level of richness, warmth and musicality previously attainable only with a tremendous investment in world-class tube gear.

Recommended Usage:

• On the output of a CD player.
• In the tape loop of an integrated amplifier.
• Between a pre and power amp.
• From the front two channels of your HT processor or receiver
• Between your Phono Stage and your Preamp

Features & Benefits

• High input impedance - Does not offer any loading to the source CD player and as a result it gives its best possible performance.

• Low output impedance - Drives any amplifier easily and ensures virtually perfect linearity.

I'm thinking the same thing HT. Doesn't Music Direct have a return-policy...

one helluva deal. Anybody looking to tame some digital harness, look no further.

If I'm not mistaken, $399 was a "sale price" to begin with...

    Speaking of tweaks Haimoc.

I love the Versalab and I do believe, we stole these at the price we paid.
I was extremely surprised. Keep me in mind if you ever decide to unload yours:D

Looks good; I bet it's going to sound great; looking forward to your review.

P.S. I'll trade you a CSi5 for those Tylers.....they won't be a good timbre match with the VMPS...

I'll pay shipping both ways :)

This should be a fun one to play with. Not quite sure where it will belong in my system yet, but more than likely between my TT and phono stage OR between the Preamp and Amp to tone down the LSi9's a bit.

At $50 less than Music Direct's price for one that's already broken in...this was really a no-brainer for me. Sure, tubes may be hard to come by for this down the road...but who really holds onto gear long enough for that to be an issue!:D Thanks again Early.

On other forums, people seem to experience the best results between preamp and amp -- assuming neither are already tube.
