    check out your local Good Will or Craigslist.org for da cheap stuff. it's everywhere.

    that way there won't be any shipping charges. :)

    Good Will's not a bad idea, though I've never seen any car speakers there. I'm not sure how much I like the idea of buying used gear from folks I've never seen before, but thanks for the tip. I hadn't thought about shipping charges kind of nullifying the 'deal'.

    Right after I posted I also thought that the local hifi shop where I got all my stuff very well might could hook me up with something cheap.

    pawn shops have tons of speakers that could be had for really cheap. every pawn shop i've ever visited.. has tons of them.
