Setup for my civic sedan...

Hey guys... I have a Honda 96 civic 4dr, and I'm looking to get the following setup (all polk audio components):
2 x MMC6500
1 x MMC690
2 x MM2124 OR 1 x MM12
1 x C300.2
1 x C500.1
One set of the MMC6500's is for the front, i'm gonna mount a second pair in the rear doors also.
I'm also gonna try to remove the rear panel and mount a custom-made sealed (editied) enclosure with the subs in it so you can hear/feel the base better in the car since i drive a sedan and the trunk isn't vented or "open" like a hatchback.
Just curious what you guys think, and any advice you might have
thanks!

- MMC6500 for rear fill is even too good. MMC650 should be just fine for rear.
- Whats the need of MMC690s?
- Subs 2x MM2124 will be nice.
- 300.2 amp might be a bit weak for your setup. Look for a 4ch amp doing ~4x100 @4ohm
- 500.1 amp might also be a bit weak for 2 12inchers. get sth. with 800@2ohm? But I heard that the 500.1 actually gives you way more than 500watts@2ohm. So might be fine going ported on it? Dunno though. -

thx for ur input. you're definitely right about the MMC690's i dont really need them, i could save the money i suppose. i thought the c500.1 would be weak but i wasnt sure. this is my first system and i dont need pave-cracking bass, either. i've heard various systems with only one amp powering 2 subs but they prolly had a higher power rating. however, i suppose i'll forget about the 6x9's and grab another mono amp. so you think the c400.4 will work better than the c300.2... for the components? I'll also gladly purchase a JL 2/4 channel amp. (but i'd preferr polk) any recommendations?? -
The c400x4 has 75w@4ohm and should be fine yes. But to make sure, wait for some other guys' opinions. Arc makes also great amps I heard. They also have one that makes 4x100 i guess?!
The are a few 6channel amps out there that would go well with your system, too. Unfortunately, I dunno any atm. But 3 years ago I had the Signat Rambo (500pieces limited edition). It could do 4x90 @ 4ohm + 2x150 or 1x510 @ 4ohm. Was a really nice amp. I m sure there are some out there with these specs today. Back then I powered 1 x 4 x 8inch (8ohm) polk subs put together (brings it down to 2ohm again) (sealed) + 1 x polk dx compo + 1 x polk dx coax. It was totally sufficient power wise, even though I went sealed -
Couldnt find any 6channel amp with enough power well if you can get the rambo off ebay it would be worth it!
Here are some arc amps
ARC KAR 900.1 D (for subs) http://www.arcaudio.com/arc-05/amplifiers/kar_9001.htm
ARC KAR 600.4 (for rest) http://www.arcaudio.com/arc-05/amplifiers/kar_6004.htm
There is another line called ARC XXK.
I dunno which is the premium line. Ask some other people here. -
I ran the c500.1 on Momo 12s for a while and it pounded nicely, alot more then i had expected actually. I only recently got rid of the C500.1 after running a number or setups on it to get something with 3x the power for a huge install

Nothing wrong at all with using 6x9's as rear fill.
True you will get your best possible staging and imaging with front speakers only but a lot of people like the sound of front and rear speakers especially if they have a bigger car and haul passengers around a lot.
The 690 is a great speaker with very solid midbass and punch and would be a perfect choice for rear fill.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

ahhhh, i'm so indecisive! if i save enough over the upcomming break, i'll get em both . but i dont know if'll have room to mount the 6x9's though ...since i want to put subs in the rear deck.
we'll see what happens. i'm really excited to build this system. -
