Looking for a new computer monitor / tv

Hey guys, its been awhile since I've posted. Been pretty busy with school and work. Anyways, I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me. Basically, I want one monitor for two purposes. I want to use it as my computer monitor and as a tv. What would be the best way to do this? Buy a computer monitor or a regular lcd tv? I'm looking for something around 20-24 inches in size, and widscreen. And if it means anything, I currently have a 17 inch lcd.
If anyone has any other suggestions, please feel free, I'm all ears.
Thanks
Jerry

Dell ultrasharp series have VGA, DVI, Composite and S-Video hookups so you could plug in a tuner. Or you can get a tuner card for your computer and use it like a tivoGod shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8

Would there be any reason why I couldn't use an lcd tv as my computer monitor? Are there any drawbacks?
Thanks

Go to your local Best Buy and check out there selection. The one by me has a few 20 inch and bigger combos that are also HDTV ready.

So, your saying that the lcd tv wouldn't be ideal when surfing the web or writing up a paper in microsoft word for school?Main System:

I have a 32" Westinghouse in my bedroom. It's a TV, but it has VGA inputs so you can use it for PC.
I think the resolution looks very good. Better than the screen in my laptop. They have 27" TVs that would be even better for your application.
I would get a TV with VGA inputs, not a Monitor that you can hook a tuner to for tv.Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand
Bedroom: Samsung HPR-4252, Toshiba HD-A2, HK 3480, Signal Cable, AQ speaker cable, Totem Dreamcatchers, SVS PB10-NSD, URC MX-850 -
What do you guys think about this monitor? Looks like it has alot of nice features, including the tv input. Anybody have one?

I think it looks nice, and NEC seems to make good stuff (from reputation, not experience).
But, the price seems a bit high. I know you can get a new Westinghouse 32" LCD with built in HDTV tuner for like $649 at BB. I'd look for the 27" Westy with built in HDTV in an open box somewhere (or buy off the web), probably get one for $500 or less out the door.Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand

Some guys I work with just got Gateway 24" LCD monitors. Looks amazing, especially for having 1080p support and a ~$700 price tag.Brian Knauss

Wait up, hold on one second.
I'm using a 26" Olevia HD-TV set at 1280x720 to write a paper, do some work, and watch TV PIP. I even posted a brief review of the unit when I first got it.
Yes, the resolution could be a little better, but I've found that this is the way to go, bar none.

for some idea of how it works.
This tv can now be found for around $400, significantly cheaper and a bit bigger than the other options.Lovin that music year after year.
