I haven't made the jump to an amp, I just coughed up for a projector so I'll be waiting a while.

Yet in reading my user manual, I discovered that I could bi-wire using my speaker C terminals. Why not I said, but before I did, I solicited a few opinions from a few local stereo-heads around here. The opinions were as varied as one would expect. Bottom line? Just plug it in and see.

I did.

My mouth won't stop watering.

It's almost as if the RTI8's have new life breathed into them and they are brand new! The word I would use to describe is "richness". What I only heard from speakers that had a 200 watt amp, I am getting from my lowly Marantz SR7500.

I highly recommend this setup if anyone has a similar set of outs on their receiver and haven't yet made the jump to an amp.

One last note, if this has worked a miracle to my speakers for just 2 speakers, I wonder what would happen if all 5 are bi-wired/ampd? droooolllll.....:)

First, congrats on the discovery. Ain't it great when you get more performance outta what you already got?

Second, my brother's got a Marantz 7200 or similiar (can't remember the exact model). How do you bi-wire with the C terminals? Is it laid out in the owner's manual?

    Thanks and enjoy.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the results. Now you could try different sets of wire on the LF and HF sections. Use something you enjoy for high freq's on the HF input and something good on bass on the LF.

    Thanks cstpeter!

I skimmed the manual, but I don't think he can do it.

If you take a look at my manual, on page 20, on the right hand side, you will see how you can bi-wire. Hope that helps! It's also a plus if you have 4 terminals for your speakers too! :0

I am only using Monster XP speaker wire because I got a killer deal on it through newegg.com. I know it's not silver! But I don't really have anything to compare it to. What would you recommmend for the rti8's?

Isn't he "kinda/sorta" bi-amping. Did he say he was using the c speaker terminals from his receiver?

I just woke up, so I might have completely mis-read.

Yep, not true bi-amping and while I'm skeptical of his results who am I to say he's not hearing what he is hearing. Same outputs and same power supply....hmmm. Perhaps just removing the jumpers is why it sounds better to him.

Yep, that's all that's important...he's hearing an improvement. That's the whole ball of wax.

Yes same power supply, but instead of 105 watts to the jumpered speakers, I have 105 watts to the tweeter and 105 watts to the main speaker for a total of 210 clear watts. Technically, this is more bi-amp'd than bi-wired. Sorry for being such a newb.

I still am curious as to what kind of wire would push the vocals and instrumentals even more.

The sonic push I feel from the speakers is really great. Whereas before I only felt it with the bass, now I can feel pressure from the mid's and highs. I'm freaking blown away!
