Just got my mini-monitors refoamed, not too bad of a job and they sound... GREAT. I plugged them in to my SX-450 and spun a John Hiatt ballad.... mmm tasty!

Yeah one of the cabs is a little rough

Sure, post away - the Monitor 7 is a big favorite around here, every true Polk fan should have a pair, if not in use - at least tucked away. I've gone through 2 or 3 pair of 7b's, gave a pair of 7a's with the 10" pr to Troy at the first SC Polkfest, I've got a pair of 7a's with the 8" pr in the magic closet for safe keeping.

    Cheers,
    Russ

I've been trolling ebay for a cheap pair of 7s. PM me with a price if you are selling.

Also, not all 7s have the same size PR???

I bought the 7s about the same time I got the mini-monitors. I worked as a car audio installer for a shop that sold Polks and used sweat equity to buy them along with my NAD 7020.

Mine are actually tucked away. I'll dig them out over the weekend. My wife didn't want them in the living room anymore - I wanted to use them as main speakers for our home theater setup. It was a good enough excuse to get a pair of Definitive 1's.

The very original 7 had an uncoated 8" PR. Later (at least by the 7A) the PR was 10" and coated.

From Marky's ca. 1976 Polk brochure:

    Markys ca. 1978 Monitor 7A (s/n 4900):

I'd love to unearth a pair of the Mini-Monitors...

You can find the mini's, you just have to constantly look for them. I donated my pair to Polk HQ for static display, several other members have some tucked away, plenty of Model 9's floating around the board recently also.

really can't tell you either... I think 4 ohm...

I just paid more to refoam mine than what most here would pay for the ebay pair.

They are worth what you'll pay.......
