AQ DBS voltage question

I know the higher the voltage the better they are supposed to sound but if I'm happy with my non-dbs AQ's including a couple pair of king cobras, should I even be worried about the voltage? The reason I'm asking is it seems I can get a pair of AQ DBS 12v xlr's for under $200 but I can't find a pair of king cobra xlr's for under $200. I want a pair of xlr's to see what balanced sounds like on a 75 watt tube amp.
And if the battery ever dies, aren't I still left with a quality set of solid core ic's?
Thanks.

I think you just answered your own question. Never upgrade just for the sake of upgrading, if your happy with what you've got---leave it be.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2
